Help build My Website

I wanted to share a few simple things I've learned that can help you avoid building a website that doesnt make your customer/visitors want to stay or purchase from your website.

My website is just informational but I follow these same rules. Except on my personal website.

Avoid music that plays automatically in the background. Always give customers the option to play it IF they wish.

Consider this: Your at work browsing for a gift for someone and all of a sudden loud music begins to play.....everyone in the office including your boss turns to look...and you arent supposed to be browsing the internet at work !! Do you think this client will come back to your website again after that?

Avoid making the buying process take forever. The simpler the better. This is a common mistake on many e-commerce websites. Example: If your at home with kids running around playing and your trying to hurry up and purchase a gift for them, do you want to wait 5 minutes just to be able to checkout, with the chance of the kids seeing what your buying? Not likely...

Offer a reason to shop with you, it's a competitive market out there...incentives, incentives, incentives.

If your asking them to sign up on your website, give them a reason to want to.

Such as: First 10 members to sign up get free shipping on all orders under $20.00 or something like this.

Regarding Keywords: These have to be the most important part of your site.....if you use words like "build my website" or "informational website" and your site has nothing to do with this, well suffice it to say, it wont be relevant in the search engines.

Use your keywords on the pages of your site, often. Use the footer area of your pages to also display keywords and you can even make them into links.

Hopefully the information here will help your informational or ecommerce website prosper. My website has hit number #1 in google for "help build my ecommerce website" and #4 for "help buld my website", Use those keywords !!! And more importantly Buy an ecommerce website or an informational website from us and you too can have this success in the search engines.
